Hello Everyone!
I am excited to share with you that we are so close to the launch of Trade+Impact Association, a new non-profit global trade association focused on breaking down trade barriers for social enterprises in Africa and the Middle East. Trade+Impact is building a collaborative online global community of members from the craft and natural cosmetic sectors, with a focus on women-led social enterprises.
Our purpose is to advance these social enterprises enabling them to increase the impact on their communities and beyond.
Thanks to your support, the inaugural Trade+Impact Summit and Trade Expo was held in September 2016 in Ifrane, Morocco. The best word to describe the event was ‘magical’. Buyers, craft social enterprises, natural cosmetics producers, ingredient producers, non-profits, designers, business consultants, social impact investors and government officials from 35 countries around the world, 25 of those from within Africa + Middle East, engaged in open and meaningful discussion intended to move our sector forward. New business partnerships and lasting friendships were plentiful.
Because of the magic of Morocco, the natural evolution was to form a global collaborative community which is the Trade+Impact Association: a community where everyone is encouraged to contribute, consider, and cultivate women-led social enterprises in the craft and natural cosmetics sectors.
In the next couple weeks we'll be officially launching our association and online digital platform which will allow us to fulfill our purpose to break the barriers to trade and increase the impact of these social enterprises.
