Millions of women in Africa + Middle East participate in the artisan and natural skincare sectors. For many, their livelihood depends on income from these activities and often they're women-led. The depth and scope of the impact of these women-led social enterprises is significant; they positively impact their employees, their communities and the environment. However reaching new markets and accessing financing is a major challenge, their impact is limited by their ability to grow their business
trade+impact has been created to provide a ground-breaking summit and trade expo for increased trade, investment and skills development necessary to grow the impact of women-led social enterprises in their communities and beyond. Through trade+impact, women connect, learn, inspire and trade with global buyers, social impact investors and other social enterprises. The platform also offers skills training programs necessary to enable their growth.
trade+impact leads to increased trade and business growth, driving greater social impact in the form of increased wages, rural employment, education, healthcare and environmental sustainability. trade+impact offers a platform to address the challenges such as access to markets, finance and skills development. Our first event saw 70 social enterprises participating from 25 different countries, employing hundreds of thousands with an average of 8 dependents. We want this number to grow each year!
