Dear Friends,

Thank you kindly for all your support over the last couple years - we have been able to see some great achievements, and we're still going strong!

Because of your contribution:

  • We were able to launch the first ever Pan African Summit + Trade Expo for Women-Led Social Enterprises in the Craft and Natural Cosmetics Sectors.
  • We were able to build a community of stakeholders from around the world who share a common mission
  • We launched as a Trade+Impact Association, a global trade association breaking down the barriers to trade and investment for women-led social enterprises across Africa and the Middle East in our two focus sectors
  • We will host our second annual event in Nairobi, Kenya this coming September!

None of this would be possible without your support so once again THANK YOU! This will be our final report through GlobalGiving - but we won't be going anywhere!

We have some great things happening so please be sure to stay in touch and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and through our newsletter. If you would like to contact us directly please do at info@tradeplusimpact.org

Lots of love,

Trade+Impact Team

Trade+Impact 2018 has officially launched!

Since the great success of the Trade+Impact 2016 Summit in Ifrane, Morocco, our global team has expanded to include even more perspectives and expertise in the process of establishing what will promise to be an even greater force for the economic empowerment of women in Africa and the Middle East in Trade+Impact 2018.

Membership in Trade+Impact is continually expanding thanks to media attention and word of mouth which present Trade+Impact with high regard, specifically due to the great impact that the association shows with linking women led social enterprises with other artisans, investors and buyers to grow businesses sustainably and with increased levels of cooperation between women led enterprises as an important bottom line. As Trade+Impact members can attest to, the association has truly been able to deliver on its promises and only shows signs of continuing growth in the near future.

In order to ensure that as many women led enterprises to benefit from all that Trade+Impact has to offer, Trade+Impact is grateful rely on your continued support. More women led enterprises taking part in Trade+Impact leads to deeper and more diverse modes of collaboration between members, to the great benefit of the craft and natural cosmetic sectors across Africa and the Middle East, and consequently, to the women leading the charge in these sectors.

To experience the newly launched Trade+Impact, please visit our all new website.

Hello Everyone!

I am excited to share with you that we are so close to the launch of Trade+Impact Association, a new non-profit global trade association focused on breaking down trade barriers for social enterprises in Africa and the Middle East.  Trade+Impact is building a collaborative online global community of members from the craft and natural cosmetic sectors, with a focus on women-led social enterprises.

Our purpose is to advance these social enterprises enabling them to increase the impact on their communities and beyond.

Thanks to your support, the inaugural Trade+Impact Summit and Trade Expo was held in September 2016 in Ifrane, Morocco. The best word to describe the event was ‘magical’. Buyers, craft social enterprises, natural cosmetics producers, ingredient producers, non-profits, designers, business consultants, social impact investors and government officials from 35 countries around the world, 25 of those from within Africa + Middle East, engaged in open and meaningful discussion intended to move our sector forward. New business partnerships and lasting friendships were plentiful.

Because of the magic of Morocco, the natural evolution was to form a global collaborative community which is the Trade+Impact Association: a community where everyone is encouraged to contribute, consider, and cultivate women-led social enterprises in the craft and natural cosmetics sectors.

In the next couple weeks we'll be officially launching our association and online digital platform which will allow us to fulfill our purpose to break the barriers to trade and increase the impact of these social enterprises.

For more information, be sure to visit our website and sign up for notifications. You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to be sure that you're informed as soon as we launch!

Hello Everyone!

Thought we would share a few updates from the Trade+Impact Team!

Earlier this year, we made the official announcement that we were restructuring as a trade association! We held a call for nominations for the Board of Directors and have since pulled together a strong team of key players, influencers and advisors from the craft and natural cosmetics sectors, from within Africa + Middle East and beyond!

We have been working hard with key stakeholders to design high value membership benefits - and will be opening up for membership in the next couple of months! So stay tuned!

We have also been receiving many enquiries about our next event! Our next event is scheduled for May 2018, and we have recently launched a call for proposals for the next host country. We hope to have the event in a different region within Africa + Middle East each year, so we can't wait to announce where the next one will be! There are many countries interested in submitting and a decision will be made early May 2017.

We wanted to take the time once again to thank all of you who supported our crowdfunding campaign last year! We're only just getting started and we're happy to have you on this journey with us!
