Empowering Youth in S. Africa - Marias Restaurant

Dear supporters and donors,

  I Jhoanny, Maria, Lisa (Marias local friend) &  the kids want to immensely thank you for your support and generosity in our journey to raising funds so that Maria is able to not only have more food security but also own her own business where the kids will also have a chance to learn life skills and grow in a market that is always growing: the food business. 

  I am happy to announce that so far with the matching fund we were able to raise the amount of $2,639.00. These funds will be fully available to Airline Ambassadors by January 23rd and will be sent all to Maria bank account in South africa. 

Maria will receive the funds and with the help of Lisa, a local friend she plans to buy a mobile kitchen and serve food from it at different locations (like a spot on the main road where Maria stays) this road has no option as of now for drivers to have takeaway food.  Also she will change spots where buildings exist and  construction workers, and other businesses are well trafficked so that she can hit sales. Lisa will be helping Maria design a menu and present certain meals. 

As a team, we came to this slightly change of plans, due to the fact that raising money to open a full restaurant will take 6 months - 1 year and will take a lot more fundraising efforts., Instead, what Maria and Lisa came up with was the idea of starting a bit smaller, and we can keep raising money and scale it from there.
