Operation Vasantha has been impacting the lives of disadvantaged rural children. This highly interactive and empowering initiative addresses the problem of school dropouts. It also aims to educate families on the importance of education and engage dropouts and other children through interactive activities and fun learning sessions. These activities include parents counseling, health and hygiene camps and education on ecology.

Operation Vasantha Program Activities:

Students were taught according to their syllabus. Students were helped in doing their home works explaining and concepts as per their syllabus.

OV volunteers participated in virtual meetings. Maker Kit training was conducted by Mr. Natesh in DK Palli and Noolukunta OVV’s and OVVI’s on February 17th. Training was about on modules for kids and volunteers.
On 18th Feb blended learning Institute conducted interviews in virtual classes for OV students. Along with school teachers, OV volunteers from Yanamanashanapalli, Challaralapalli and Parakattapalli participated.
OV centers celebrated science day on 28th February. Students involved in doing some models and exhibited in their villages. Government teachers, youth, and parents visited and encourages them.
On 26th February carrier guidance program at D.K.Palli Ov center.
On 26th Agastya conducted science fair at APMS, Thumsi. Volunteers participated and encouraged kids.
Dhwani training program conducted at Jogindlu OV center about short film making.
OV Kits distributed to the OV centers.
Conducted cluster-wise online OV meetings for all OV Volunteers through OVIs.
Conducted Rangoli competition for children on behalf of Sankranthi occasion on Jan 26^th.
Celebrated Republic Day in all OV Centers.
On 8th March Agastya team from Innovation Hub and Media celebrated International Women’s Day at Rajanam village with the help of Rajanam primary school- H.M and volunteer and also OV volunteer. Conducted Games, Rangoli Competition and Food Competition to the village Women’s.
On 10th March conducted Dhwani community program at Jogindlu by the MediaArts lab team. They showed work done by their children to their parents. They took videos, edited and created short-films with the help of Agastya Media team and volunteer. In this program Anganwadi teacher, village volunteer, community members, and parents participated and appreciated children’s work.
On 16th March visited Innovation hub to motivate and explain about “Parent-Child Innovation Program” to OV students and Volunteers.
On 22nd March visited S.Palyam OV village along with M.E.O Gudupalli to motivate parents on school dropouts.
On 26th March Dhwani community program conducted by MediaArts team at Gudichemmagiri village. Primary school HM, S.M.C chairman, parents and youth members, village volunteers, and children participated in program.
On 29th March Impact team from Bangalore visited Amaravati colony and then engaged children with fun games and songs. They motivated students for future education.
On 31st March Amaravati colony volunteer conducted Food Fest on occasion of Ugadi. OV students, and parents prepared different dishes and enjoyed a lot.
In the event of OV center, MediaArts team conducted Dhwani community program. Mr.Hafeez from Hawking’s International school, Mr. Naryanasetty Newpet Maths teacher participated in this program. They explained the importance of National Festivals and also enjoyed food feast along with Dhwani program.

Operation Vasantha (OV) has been impacting the lives of disadvantaged rural children since 2009. This highly interactive and empowering initiative addresses the problem of school dropouts. It also aims to educate families on the importance of education and engage dropouts. and other children through interactive activities and fun learning sessions. These activities include parents counselling, health and hygiene camps, and education on ecology.

Local college students are trained and given support from Agastya to teach children in their villages. These individuals willingly spend their evenings educating and inspiring weaker students and school dropouts from their villages. The target students, many of whom are first-generation learners, had dropped out of school for a myriad of reasons. Firstly, some were “encouraged” to do so to work and contribute to the family’s income. Secondly, younger siblings often have to give up their studies if their older siblings were already pursuing higher education. This is because many families cannot afford the hefty economic burden of putting all their children through school.

During Oct 2021-December 2021, 25 units of OV center reached 2,482 unique number of children and 43,485 student exposures. Apart from regualr school syallbus and home work. Given below was the activity conducted in the OV center.

Organized Aids Awareness Programs on December 1^st by OV volunteers and OV Students to the Community.
Conducted OV Meeting during Founders Day Program. Agastya Team, OVV and OVIs participated in this Program.
OV Kits Received from Kuppam Campus Stores. Children actively did hands on activity through kit.
Conducted Virtual training program by Pune Team in OV center. Volunteers and students participated.
Students and OV volunteers participated in Mini Media Arts Event at Kangundhi High school. Noolukunta and Marwada OV center visited by Mr. Natesh and Ms. Chaya from Agastya, Mr. Natesh gave an orientation on makergat program to OV volunteers and OV students at Noolukunta.
Media Team Conducted Dhwani community fair at Marwada OV Center. Govt Teacher and school community chairman, community members participated. They appreciated the work done by students.
All OV Center volunteers celebrated Dussara festival in their OV center.
Makergat Kit distributed in Noolukunta and Dk Palli OV Centers.
OV center conducted OV fairs and Parents meet.
Celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi in OV Center.
OV volunteers conducting Mini Science fairs and Parents committee meeting. Through this program, parents were known about what their children done and learn while they are attend the classes.
OV Volunteers received feedback and suggestions from students’ Parents.

Reach and Benefits

1 Operation Vasantha center reaches out to 30 children, operating for 200 days a year, the program will generate close to 6,000 child exposures* in a year.

Volunteers living in the villages with educational qualifications of graduate and postgraduate who are an innovative thinker and interested in teaching will be chosen for the Operation Vasantha program. They will be provided with a scholarship.

Operation Vasantha program aims to educate families on the importance of education and engage dropouts and other children through interactive activities and fun learning sessions. The program includes the following activities.

Helping children to complete their homework
Fun learning activities to the children between the ages of 7-11 have learning outcomes that shape a child’s logical, reasoning, deduction, analytical, motor, estimation and experimentation skills.
Multi-pronged approach: Mobile Science Lab reaching out to students in remote areas during the day and evening sessions being reinforced by Operation Vasantha program.
Activities related to Arts and crafts
During summer holidays, we will conduct summer camps to the children.

Project Benefits:

Stimulates child’s inherent curiosity.
The program fosters critical thinking and creativity through hands-on science and provides a strong and dynamic learning resource base for rural children.
The instructor is a local hire has a greater sense of ownership and responsibility towards his/her community.
The sessions consist of multi-grade beneficiaries, which facilitates inculcating of soft skills such as collaboration and teamwork
Exposes children to topics such as logic, analysis, synthesis, imagination, estimation Measurement, design, scientific principles at a young age.
