Operation Vasantha has been impacting the lives of disadvantaged rural children. This highly interactive and empowering initiative addresses the problem of school dropouts. It also aims to educate families on the importance of education and engage dropouts and other children through interactive activities and fun learning sessions. These activities include parents counseling, health and hygiene camps and education on ecology.

Local college students are trained and given support from Agastya to teach children in their villages. These individuals willingly spend their evenings educating and inspiring weaker students and school dropouts from their villages.

Operation Vasantha Program Activities:

Students were taught according to their syllabus. Students were helped in doing their home works explaining and concepts as per their syllabus.

  • OV volunteers participated in virtual meetings. Maker Kit training was conducted by Mr. Natesh in DK Palli and Noolukunta OVV’s and OVVI’s on February 17th. Training was about on modules for kids and volunteers.
  • On 18th Feb blended learning Institute conducted interviews in virtual classes for OV students. Along with school teachers, OV volunteers from Yanamanashanapalli, Challaralapalli and Parakattapalli participated.
  • OV centers celebrated science day on 28th February. Students involved in doing some models and exhibited in their villages. Government teachers, youth, and parents visited and encourages them.
  • On 26th February carrier guidance program at D.K.Palli Ov center.
  • On 26th Agastya conducted science fair at APMS, Thumsi. Volunteers participated and encouraged kids.
  • Dhwani training program conducted at Jogindlu OV center about short film making.
  • OV Kits distributed to the OV centers.
  • Conducted cluster-wise online OV meetings for all OV Volunteers through OVIs.
  • Conducted Rangoli competition for children on behalf of Sankranthi occasion on Jan 26th.
  • Celebrated Republic Day in all OV Centers.
  • On 8th March Agastya team from Innovation Hub and Media celebrated International Women’s Day at Rajanam village with the help of Rajanam primary school- H.M and volunteer and also OV volunteer. Conducted Games, Rangoli Competition and Food Competition to the village Women’s.
  • On 10th March conducted Dhwani community program at Jogindlu by the MediaArts lab team. They showed work done by their children to their parents. They took videos, edited and created short-films with the help of Agastya Media team and volunteer. In this program Anganwadi teacher, village volunteer, community members, and parents participated and appreciated children’s work.
  • On 16th March visited Innovation hub to motivate and explain about “Parent-Child Innovation Program” to OV students and Volunteers.
  • On 22nd March visited S.Palyam OV village along with M.E.O Gudupalli to motivate parents on school dropouts.
  • On 26th March Dhwani community program conducted by MediaArts team at Gudichemmagiri village. Primary school HM, S.M.C chairman, parents and youth members, village volunteers, and children participated in program.
  • On 29th March Impact team from Bangalore visited Amaravati colony and then engaged children with fun games and songs. They motivated students for future education.
  • On 31st March Amaravati colony volunteer conducted Food Fest on occasion of Ugadi. OV students, and parents prepared different dishes and enjoyed a lot.
  • In the event of OV center, MediaArts team conducted Dhwani community program. Mr.Hafeez from Hawking’s International school, Mr. Naryanasetty Newpet Maths teacher participated in this program. They explained the importance of National Festivals and also enjoyed food feast along with Dhwani program.

 “In OV center children are interested in learning new ideas, which is not related to their subject, and according to interests of children. They participated and ask more questions until they clarify their doubts and asked open-ended questions.”- Ashok, Volunteer, Porakuntlapalli.
