Dear Patrons,
Thank you very much for the generous support you have provided so far to the Livestock for 200 Poor Families in Rwanda Project. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to improving the livelihoods of vulnerable families, and we would like to share an update on the project’s progress and recent developments.
So far, project activities have focused on the purchase of pigs, transportation, and feed to ensure proper care of the animals provided to beneficiary families.
In collaboration with Burega Sector, one of the sectors of Rulindo District, we successfully donated pigs to highly vulnerable families. The beneficiary families were selected by Burega Sector leaders based on their socio-economic status under Ubudehe Category 1, which includes families unable to meet their basic needs.
During the donation activity, one sector leader noted that there is a long list of families in need of similar support and expressed hope for continued assistance. In response, RWAYDAVO reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting vulnerable families whenever support or donations are available.
In total, five pigs have been donated to five families so far, and 195 families remain in need in order to achieve the project’s goal of supporting 200 families.
We are also pleased to share an important project update. RWAYDAVO has established strong collaboration with the Taba Community Empowerment Cooperative (TCEC). The cooperative is currently constructing pig housing, which will improve animal welfare, sustainability, and long-term impact. Moving forward, the project plans to donate pigs to TCEC, while RWAYDAVO will conduct follow-up and monitoring to ensure proper management and accountability.
To continue and expand these life-changing activities, we kindly request your continued support. Your partnership is essential to reaching additional poor families and achieving the project’s objectives.
Once again, thank you for your trust and continued support.
With sincere appreciation,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
