Hello Everyone!

we are excited to update you on the progress of our project "livelihood sustainability through fishfarming.

We are very thankful for all your support, we have come this far through you great support.

As was mention earlier in our previous report, sustainability of livelihood in the fishing community especially in Akosua Village in Winneba is very critical as fish stock keep decreasing every single day.

The idea of our project "sustainable fish farming" was to create an alternative livelihood by teaching fishermen about these alternatives fish farming by creating a demonstration farm for practical experience and also creating fish processing and sales job for women in the community.

In October, 2024, we purchased 12ft x 12ft tarpaulin thank, buy 1000 catfish fingerlings, run plumbing works and got started with the pilot project to test the viability of the project while we prepared our 60ft x 30ft concrete fishpond.

The pilot project in the parpaulin thank was a great success even though we had some little setbacks.

Now our focus is on completing work on concrete pond and drilling a hole in the ground to get water in other to expand the project.

currently, the concrete pond has been divided into six, the size of each pond is 20ft x 10ft, each of these pond can take 3000. So the approximate fishes to be produced in this concrete pond is 20000 every 7month, this is a huge market for the struggling fishing in Akosua village, however these thanks are not fully completed yet.

currently, our funding expectation are met half way, we hoped to have more funding to complete this project in time.

thank you all for your great support, we will keep updating you as soon as possible.

sincerely yours,

Bright H. Boglo (project Leader)
