This project aimed to enhance the living and working conditions of informal waste collectors in Idlib by transforming unsafe, unregulated waste collection practices into a structured and sustainable livelihood system. It responded to the growing waste crisis caused by prolonged conflict, which had exposed collectors to significant health and environmental risks.

The project improved working conditions, increased income opportunities, and enhanced dignity for waste collectors. It also strengthened community engagement in waste management, reduced environmental hazards, and promoted sustainable practices aligned with circular economy principles.
Conclusion:
By integrating vulnerable workers into a more formal waste management system, the project contributed to inclusive urban development, improved resilience, and fostered social cohesion in conflict-affected communities.
