This project aims at sinking a Borehole and providing a water reservoir within the rural village in Ligala Siaya county. Upon its successful completion will provide will provide clean drinking water to over 4000 residents within the North Ugenya Ward in Ugenya constituency in Kenya.
Water is the most basic need that any household needs to fulfill their wants. Its absence or scarcity creates a situation of helplessness leading to search for this valuable commodity far and wide. Majority of family set-ups in Africa are male dominated and gender roles are well defined by the family heads. In communities where men play this domination with iron feasts the female population are rendered vulnerable to being assigned any tasks without their consultation or will.
Sinking of this borehole in ligala at the Seeds of Hope Educational centre will be key to solving the enormous water problem that has for many years dominated the this village. This water will be given to the community upon completion of membership completion. Any small collections made will be directed towards the maintenance and servicing the facility.
We are hoping that this will be a major supplier of water for domestic and agricultural use. This will adequately help out in future food security and ensure that any water borne diseases are kept at bay for this community as this will be treated before distribution.
