By Martha Mwangi | Manager NGO Partnerships & Project Grants
Since the launch of our project on the GlobalGiving platform, we have raised $8 to support our initiatives across East and West Africa. Despite the modest funds raised so far, our ongoing work continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable communities. For example, in Effiduase, Ghana, we successfully drilled a mechanized borehole that now supplies clean and safe water to over 2,000 residents, significantly improving health and sanitation conditions.
In Uganda, 10 women and youth have diversified their income streams by establishing a hotline and delivery system for local businesses, while in Kenya, 10 women received training in tailoring undergarments and menstrual pads, helping keep girls in school and enhancing their well-being. Additionally, in Tanzania, 100 single mothers are now entrepreneurs, launching a sunflower business to build financial resilience.
While some projects are still in progress due to funding gaps, we remain committed to empowering local communities through training, income generation, and access to essential services. We thank our supporters for their ongoing interest and encourage continued engagement as we work towards creating sustainable change.
