The distribution of birth kits to 300 pregnant women in Gombe is one of the priority project for Rural Health Mission Nigeria. Six volunteers has been trained to effectively distribute the birth kits and teach users (community health workers) on proper usage.
Due to limited funds raised ($900 disbursed) as against $5000 required, RHEMN is working on local production of the kits by sourcing the items locally to meet up with the number.
The items has been procured to package and distribute 50 pieces before the end of this month (March) while more funds are sought.
We hope to make use of the little funds raised so far to locally package and distribute the kits instead of buying from stores which is usually expensive and the required number cannot be made. But with the latest plan to locally package by ourselves will bring up the number to at least 150 pieces using the funds in hand now.
We shall send in pictures of the kids soon enough as well as out beneficiaries.
