Provide Lifesaving Kits for 10000 women in Nigeria

As we stepped into 2025, I am excited to share the progress we’ve made, thanks to your generous support of the Lifesaving Intervention Project.

Between September and December 2024, your contributions through the GlobalGiving platform enabled us to:

Provide Clean Birth Kits: We distributed additional 20 clean birth kits to pregnant women in the Chana community using 68USD raised from globalgiving. These kits included essential sterile supplies, such as gloves, antiseptics, sanitary sheets, and sterile blades, significantly reducing the risk of infections for both mothers and newborns.

Looking ahead, we aim to expand the reach of this project by procuring additional clean birth kits for pregnant women from low-income families in Chana and neighboring communities. However, we still need your continued support to achieve this goal.

Reporting Period: June - September 2024

Dear Partners,

During the reporting period from June to September 2024, we raised $120 through our GlobalGiving fundraising campaign, which was used to provide clean birth kits for 20 pregnant women in the Chana community. This contribution is part of the ongoing Lifesaving Intervention Project aimed at improving maternal and child health in remote areas of Nigeria. The clean birth kits are essential for promoting safe deliveries by providing sterile supplies, such as gloves, sanitary sheets, antiseptics, and sterile blades, reducing the risk of infections for both mothers and newborns.

In addition to distributing birth kits, we have trained five traditional birth attendants in the Chana community. These birth attendants now have the skills to ensure safer deliveries and are better equipped to manage common complications during childbirth. Their training forms a critical part of our efforts to improve maternal healthcare in underserved areas, where access to skilled medical personnel is limited.

Moving forward, donations received through the GlobalGiving platform will be used to procure more clean birth kits for pregnant women from low-income families in Chana and other communities. Our goal is to ensure that every woman has access to safe childbirth, ultimately reducing maternal and neonatal mortality in these vulnerable populations. We appreciate the ongoing support and look forward to expanding our reach to benefit even more women and their babies across Nigeria.
