Dear Friend and Partner

We hope that you and your loved ones are safe. With the effects of Covid-19 still being strongly felt globally, Hope Foundation For African Women is humbled that we can connect with you and continue partnering on this noble initiative.

Following the government of Kenya easing Covid-19 restrictions, some classes of students were allowed back in the classes., Thus, HFAW used the opportunity to continue conducting life-skills education with strict adherence to Covid-19 precautions in Botana, Nyamira County, Kenya. We were accompanied by two public health officials from the sub-county who used the opportunity to create awareness of Covid-19 in Kenya and how the students can keep safe.

The activity's objective was to create awareness on the FGM and its effects on the health of women and girls, and advancement of the community, end teenage pregnancy, menstrual hygiene, and other life skills topics. 67 students between 12 and 15 years, and 5 teachers were reached with the above messages. The activity was both educative and fun. Apart from the teaching, we advocated for life skills to end teenage pregnancy and FGM in the region through songs and dances.

Dear friend, what a wonderful feeling to be part of the change in our community. Your support is making the lives and women better. We ask you to continue with us on this journey. With consistent determination, the right tools, and good-willing supporters like you, we are hopeful that these problems will be things of the past shortly.
