Dear friends,
YOU have eased the hardship that comes with being elderly and alone.
While we are still far from making our goal of $5,000, you have brought us closer. Together, your support has purchased freshly cooked, nutritious meals for 4 seniors. That’s 4 unique lives that have changed for the better. Thank you. People are not knocking down our door to give. Why? Because isolated seniors are often invisible. They live in everyone’s neighborhood but often they are too frail to get out much, too arthritic to shop, too visually impaired to drive. You might see them checking their mail or trying to pull out their trash each week and not much more than that.
However… they are important, worthy community members. They have stories and perspective and oftentimes; a great sense of humor. They have worked and raised children and deserve our support. In order for any neighborhood to be strong, it must care for its elderly. Someone once said “the measure of a civilization is how it treats its weakest members.” How true.
So your donation says a lot about you.
And remember; what you funded was not only a hot meal. What comes with that meal is both a daily well check and a little bit of social contact. All good stuff. Vital stuff and things each one of us need.
Spread the word about this meal campaign. We need more good people like you to help us care for all the worthy and wonderful seniors living amongst us in our community.
Warmly,
Patricia
