Successful Spring Picnic for the Elderly in Hungary

By Zsofia Racz | Director of Corporate and International Relations

We Held a Successful Spring Picnic as Part of the Friends of the Elderly Program

We are delighted to report on our recent Spring Picnic, which was a highlight of the Friends of the Elderly Program. Thirty elderly individuals and volunteers participated in the event, enjoying the sunshine and the warmth of the community together.

We prepared a rich array of activities for the day. A lovely performance by kindergarten children set the mood, followed by musical and singing acts that further enhanced the event's quality. A playful riddle-solving 'competition' provided mental stimulation, and of course, group games were also part of the day, strengthening the bonds between participants.

It was particularly moving to see so many smiles and hear the cheerful conversations. This reaffirmed that our program is achieving its goal: alleviating the daily lives of isolated and lonely seniors. We believe that providing companionship, organizing joint programs, and building community are among our most important tasks.

This successful day would not have been possible without the support of our esteemed donors. We hereby thank them for enabling us to achieve our goals!

We are already eagerly preparing for our next major event, the Senior Festival, which will take place in June. During the festival, we will offer a variety of programs for both our supported seniors and visitors to our stand, including senior yoga, senior gymnastics, and even senior cheerleading.

Supporting the elderly remains the focus of our work. The core of our activities is supporting the elderly through volunteering and with the help of volunteers.
