Let's help lonely elderly living in Hungary

This year, our program has been renewed. New managers started working in 2022 and we set ourselves new challenges. The renewal of the program also includes involving the volunteer group leaders more in the implementation of the programs for the elderly, while we at the foundation manage and organize the work.

We have signed a contract with a marketing and communication company and every week we draw attention to our program in 2 posts on different platforms of the social network: drawing society's attention to the elderly who live alone and in isolation, presenting our programs, recruiting elderly people and volunteers, and in the second half of the year a new event will take place, and for this we are recruiting ambassadors for fundraising.

We organized programs for our elderly friends in the first half of the year, we moved them out of their loneliness. On the occasion of the International Women's Day, we gave a small celebration in a beautiful ballroom, where preschoolers and elementary school students danced for them. In the end, they gave each other gifts. At the beginning of the summer, we participated in the Movement Festival of the Elderly, where one of our volunteers held yoga classes for those who were interested.

We take every such opportunity to promote our program. That's why we took part in the Earth Day expatriation programs April 20, where we introduced ourselves and on an other one also on the 15th of March.

Thanks to our donors, we are able to finance these events. Here on the GlobalGiving platform, a smaller amount of donations have been collected, but we are very grateful for everything, because this also brings us closer to achieving our goals.

In Hungary, in the first half of the year, people can donate 1% of our tax to foundations, so we focused on that as well. However, several of our programs planned for the second half of the year will be established with the support of our private donors.

We have not missed a single tender, the condition of which corresponds to our activity. On October 7, on the occasion of the World Day of the Elderly, we will take part in a morning walk, before which we will continue to collect donations for 6 weeks. This will be a so called ambassador fundraising. We welcome ambassadors from all over the world.

In the rest of the year, we will also organize other programs, such as a charity concert, at our foundation's traditional awards ceremony, where we will reward the volunteers, we will organize an auction of products offered by our corporate partners, and we will use the proceeds to organize a Christmas celebration for the elderly.

We are very grateful for any donation, we receive it from anywhere, be it a small or large amount. We use it for our goal, to make the everyday life of lonely and isolated elderly people more beautiful, and we also try to change society's attitude towards them.

We also have a lot of tasks related to renewal, because we have to create new databases and review our processes.
