Ownership is just around the corner.

Four years ago Ambergris Caye Elementary school started out with 5 classrooms and a staff of 6 on rented land with a student body of 26. Today we boast eight classrooms, a library, 2 administrative offices, a student body of 85 and we are just around the corner from being able to purchase the land the school sits on. Looking forward to September we estimate our student body growing to over 100 students and the need for 2 more teachers.
We have worked hard to grow the school and the ability to purchase the land and lower or eliminate the monthly cost of rent or a mortgage is our ultimate goal. Accomplishing this goal will put us one step closer to self sutainability of the school. This school is a non-profit organization in Belize which operates solely on the tuition the students pay, donations, and fundraising. To date we are almost 50% to our goal through the Global Giving platform, additional monies will soon be available through an outside source which will make our dream a reality. We are hoping that before school opens in September to be able to close the negotiations and be able to tell all our benefactors we have reached yet another goal in our journey.
We would like to thank everyone who has helped in this effort as we continue to move forward in our endeavor.

Progress is being made.

Currently, we are working on negotiations for the purchase of the site the school currently sits on. Although our Global Giving site only shows about 10% of the funding necessary there is a great deal of work being done behind the scenes. Through other benefactors we have been able to raise another 50% of the funding necessary to purchase the land.
Additionally, we know and have a comittment of another large some of money to be released when the contract negotiations have been finalized. So, even though the dollar amount may not appear to be enough for completion of this project we are well on our way to the successful completion of another project here at AmbergrisCaye ElementarySchool! Thanks to individuals like yourself our dreams are becoming a reality.
One day, we know that through our efforts and your support we will be able to offer free education to the children of Ambergris Caye Elementary. With only 500 recurring $25.00 donations, this dream can become a reality also! Please donate now! Just set it up and forget it! There is no betterinvestment in the future than the education of a child!

Progress is being made!
By Denice Ryan | Principal/Administrator
Happy New Year everyone! Just wanted to bring everyone up to date on the progress that is being made on our land purchase project. Although the amount raised might seem to be small at this point, the totals are about to change! We have been blessed with benefactors outside the Global Giving circle who have made a significant donation to the cause and we have benefactors in the Global Giving family who are willing to match funds! Ambergris Caye Elementary School could not be more thankful for those who are making our dreams a reality. Once we are able to purchase the land we will have the security of knowing we will never be asked to move our school again. We will then feel assured that as we grow and make improvements in our location it is an investment in the future of our school! This school exists only because of the people like yourself who are selfless and willing to invest and give toward the education of children they may not even know. Making a difference in a child's life is an investment in the future. Only through your acts of generosity can this be made possible. We thank everyone who has given so much so far. Our goal for the future is to purchase the land and move forward maintaining the sustainability of the school through continued support via recurring donations. By donating $25.00 per month you can help in this effort. With just 500 of these small monthly donations we could pay for 100 children to go to school. Help us secure the future with a recurring donation today! Thank you everyone.
