There is great news to report! As everyone has been informed in our previous report the school is now owned by the school! We no longer pay rent and we only hold a small mortgage. Which,we are trying to pay off so we can move forward with our next project. The good news is we are making headway!
This month we were given a donation of $8,000.00 Belize dollars toward the mortgage! And, a post dated check for May in the same amount! That's a total of $16,000.00 off our mortgage! The challenge is for our Global Giving Family to match those funds! Then,another contributor will match the $16,000.00! WOW! 16+16+16= 48! There is the possibility of $48,000.00 paid off on the mortgage!
Additionally, the bank has finalized all the legal documentations of the transfer of the property and much to our delight there was still $8,900.00 left in the escrow account! So, we have been able to apply those funds to the mortgage also! If everything were to go as planned we could have reduced our mortgage by more than half in the next few months!
All this,and we continue to grow. As we begin our plans for the next school year our goal is for 125 students, maybe more. Our pre-school is up and running and we will be accepting 3 year olds in addition to 4 year olds next year! From what was once just an idea we have been able to create the reality of a Primary School and a Pre-school. Who knows what the future holds....maybe, one day, a High School!
