Kubunina Gardens are in the final phase, the project is officially going to end on the 31th December 2015, nevertheless the activities initiated with Kubunina will continue in next months and hopefully years, because a sustainability plan has been activated since July 2015 in order to prepare the living of Kubunina staff with their constantly support and regular monitoring but at the same time to assure the caring on of the activities.
The agronomist prepared his leaving trough the repetition of technical and practical working sessions with the parent’s committees in order to train them to the self-organization, the agro-calendar planning and the knowledge of the principals’ plant disease and possible attacks. The coordinator and the group facilitator worked more on the social aspects, how to better self-organize in the group, how to deal with internal problems and conflict resolutions, how to better commercialize products to have a regular income and pay the school fees, ext...
In this last phase the money raised with this Global Giving campaign will be enough to make the last purchase possible and provide each group of the last assessment needed in order to guarantee a self-running cost of at least 6 more months after the end of the project and so arrive till the end of the school year.
The old farming tools will be replaced and the new necessary ones will be bought by the end of the year; moreover even if the two manual water pumps have been bought to improve the water control of the gardens, the last accessories must be purchase to make them more effective.
With all these last elements we can assure the farming activities till the end of the year that means that if the parents continue as they are doing now, the committees will manage to pay the schools fees till the end of the year and all the children will benefit of a regular education.
Thanks to this project and to the trainings done we foreseen a long life to Kubunina gardens and parents’ committees that will guarantee a large educational impact to the local communities of Congo.
We would like to thanks all the people who supported Kubunina project and to thanks all of you on behalf of all the children that benefit from this project by going to school regularly instead of been rejected every months because they couldn’t effort the school fees. All these children say “Thank you!” and all their parents say “God bless you to have gave us this great chance!”, that’s the most common comment we can here while visiting the schools and the parents’ committees.
You could carry on follow Kubunina activities on our Kubunina FB page https://www.facebook.com/kubunina/ because even if the project will end the results will last and they will update regularly.
Thank you.
