The school year has ended in Kenya and the children at JWHS are home for their long Holiday. All but one student improved in their last term! They had worked very hard The top student was number 8 in her class!!
The last day of school is a celebration at school. Each class performs a dance, poem or song. The little Nursery school children graduate and the Class 8 also graduate. Of course my camera had no power. The next day after school closed they began work on the Home, planting the garden, weeding, preparing the pathways, trimming the bushes. The last month of school is preparation for exams so many of the chores are deferred. The next day they pull out everything from the pantry and seek any lost items and any little creatures that may have decided it was a nice home.
Coming soon is a bit bittersweet. Some of the children have relatives. They are encouraged to go visit during this time. Some take the children for a few weeks and others for a few days, but we do have some that have no one and this becomes their loneliest time.
We try to plan special things for these few to make the loneliness a bit sweeter.
All the children are grateful for the Home they do have. It is your prayers and donations that make it possible.
