On August 2012, a group of ten high schools students from different areas inTohoku participated in 6 days of intensive training during which they receivedboth skills and job training by Hilton staff, as well as group building activities, creative thinking, innovation and leadership training by IsraAID.
The Summer Internship was designed to empower the youth from Tohoku totake responsibility for their futures as individuals and as a community andthrough job and skills training at the Hilton Tokyo, the students were introducedto a variety of possible careers for their future. Recruitment and transportationof students was arranged by Great East Japan Earthquake Recovery InitiativesFoundation, IsraAID offered various self-development workshops and leadershipskills and the Hilton Tokyo provided accommodation, meals and extensive handson hospitality skill training.
IsraAID is searching for additional partners who will be able to accommodateTohoku communities' need for professional education and training. Webelieve that major businesses in Japan can use IsraAID's local knowledge andrelationship with the communities in order to convey their specific know-howwhile enhancing their reach and contributing to the rebuilding efforts withinour youth leadership program. A successful entrepreneurship, leadership andvocational training require experts in these fields. We invite companies to provide added value to our program by sharing their knowledge, expertise, andcore competencies and helping us in creating “shared value” for their businessand the people of Japan.
