Civic Force's NPO Partner Projects provide support for recovery and reconstruction efforts in disaster-affected areas. As of August 2026, we launched a Partner Project with Jiyu Kenkyu in the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. Civic Force also supports Passing Down Memories, a project that aims to pass down the experiences of the Great East Japan Earthquake to the next generation.
Archiving Local Voices-Honmachi Radio
Honmachi Radio, an online program, streams a variety of segments, including talks with local residents, stories about Suzu City’s past and present, and information on recovery support services. In late February 2026, Civic Force representative Kumon joined the third edition of the program to share reflections on evolving conditions in Suzu following the earthquake. Through the radio program, Jiyu Kenkyu will continue to record and archive the voices of the local community.
Honmachi Radio is broadcast from "Honmachi Station" in Horyu, Suzu City, at the tip of Japan's Noto Peninsula. Hosted by local residents Sakika Matsuda and Kazusa Nishiumi, the show shares everyday stories from Suzu in a relaxed, casual tone. Guests have included a local bookstore owner rebuilding after the earthquake, a rice farmer, an artist who volunteered in Noto for a year, and even a Civic Force staff member. Through candid conversations, the podcast offers a window into daily life and recovery in Suzu following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
