The project aims to develop and design community based integrated sustainable development program for 3 villages in Rajasthan & Haryana like model villages, with improved health, nutrition, sanitation and livelihood status with focus on women, Children and youths. It includes intervention in maternal & child health, hygiene & sanitation, training for computer & English classes and income generating activities, safe drinking water, and protection of the village environment.
Most in the village live with no means of livelihood. Poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, & poor infrastructure are a big concern. The lack of primary health care facilities, along with gender disparity, high incidence of infant mortality, poor maternal health, child undernourishment are additional grave issues for the villages. Sukarya's first IRDP project was implemented in 2011 in the Village Manger of Haryana & now this model village concept is being implemented in 3 more villages .
Project aims to have an integrated approach towards healthcare with a special focus on mother and child, sanitation & drinking water, women empowerment, vocational training for rural youths, sensitizing the use of green energy and environment to have a model village. Project will provide regular health care access through monthly health camps, computer and English classes for rural youths, enhancing skills for women self-help groups and help building capacities for village governance.
Maternal and child health status [Immunization, ANC, PNC, Institutional delivery, colostrum feeding, child nutrition etc] will be improved. Overall knowledge and awareness of community will be increased (Computer & English). Overall health, nutrition, sanitation & livelihood status of the village will be improved. Village level committees will be linked through government schemes & services. 15000 people will be direct beneficiaries.
