During the past quarter, BridgIT has complete 23 water wells projects in Andhra Pradesh, 8 refurbished wells and 15 drilled wells! However, these were all funded from corporate or foundation sources. This crowdfunding campaign was able to successfully raise some funding for the next well refurbishment, but not enough to complete a project. We need to redouble our efforts to reach out to potential sponsors such that we can bring the basic human right of safe, clean water to more people via this campaign.
For the past 6 months, GlobalGiving sponsored BridgIT Water Foundation in a social media marketing class. Lightful.com was our service provider with the goal to help us expand our online audience, and hopefully our online fundraising. We learned the value of storytelling on social media and trust building everywhere. Based on the courses available to us in the Lightful Academy, and the “Masterclass” webinars, we have become more sophisticated in our social media outreach.
