At the request of communities within its area of operation, the NGO CAV proposes to implement a support project to provide access to improved water sources and improve sanitation at a health center. The project includes the drilling of 4 new boreholes, the rehabilitation of 2 existing boreholes, and the construction of 1 sanitation facility. It aims to improve the health of the populations in the beneficiary localities-estimated at 29,015 inhabitants-by providing them with high-quality water
The challenges faced by these communities generally include the following: the water used in these areas often comes from open wells or contaminated rivers and ponds. This leads to waterborne and parasitic diseases, such as malaria (the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in these communities), diarrhea, and typhoid fever.
1. Raising community awareness to ensure a better understanding of the project's objectives and associated risks; 2. Undertaking drilling operations and water quality analysis; 3. Providing equipment and installing mechanical and manual water supply systems; 4. Constructing the sanitation facility. 5. Construct the superstructure for the borehole 6 Support the community in establishing Water and Latrine Committees 7 Build the capacity of the Water Committee regarding the maintenance, management
This project will deliver the following impacts: 1. A sustainable solution to the problem of water sources drying up during the dry season; 2. Prevention of waterborne diseases; 3. Improvement of the population's health
