Improved water access and hygien in rural schools

Kenya Voluntary Development Association (KVDA) is making frantic efforts to bolster the fund raising for this worthy cause that require USD 39, 805 towards the implementation at Emmabwi village in collaboration with Ebukobelo Primary School and the entire community, located in Western Kenya, 350 Kilometers away from the Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. 

Frantic efforts towards this cause have been persistent and few donors have contributed to this cause and we express our sincere appreciation for their compassionate spirt and believing in our dream to actualize the project.

So far we have raised USD 35.66 against the goal of USD 39, 805 and the amounts raised is low and this is a setback to the successful implementation of this project. 

KVDA is not sure how to bridge the gap aware of the limitation to the process and given the obtaining challenges and our hope is that the GlobalGiving fraternity will support this worthy cause.

KVDA is optimistic that good tidings will ensue into the new year 2026.

From the GlobalGiving dashboard, it indicates that a disbursement for the donation of USD 17.64 was sent to the KVDA through 31st March 2025 through FxEcute method. We did not receive the acknowledgement for this payment and it will be helpful for us to know how this payment was done and if the information is not available, we will check on our bank statements for the stated dates when conducting the auditing of the organizations' funds.

Given the limitations and the slow nature of the fund raising as we are targeting people through our contacts, KVDA will highly appreciate efforts from GlobalGiving to give more visibility to our project in order to attract donatons across the board and bolster the progress.

Once again, gratitude from KVDA for the tremendous efforts and the privilege granted to the organization to use the GlobalGiving platform for the fund raising to raise money for this cause.

The project deficit is significantly high and we call upon our partner organizations, families, friends and well-wishers to do everything within their capacities to make a contribution through KVDA towards the implementation of the project.

It is universally acknowledged that when it comes to giving for worthy causes, no amount of money is small and what matters is our resolve, determination and enthusiasm to make the difference and this has profound potentials for growth and sustainability.

KVDA is striving through promotional materials to reach audiences and we will do everything possible to enhance the program for profound impact on the communities recipient of the program, majority of whom are found at the grassroots in Kenya. 

Majority of the donation appeals were done worldwide through partner organizations involved in international voluntary service and KVDA did not receive positive feedback on the donations appeal and this is worrying especially given the fact that these organizations understand the structure of the work undertaken but their failure to make contributions can be attested to the economic challenges besetting many sectors in the world at the moment. 

We applause GlobalGivng management for your tremendous efforts that have enabled many organizations who aspire to be among the change makers in the society to get the needed support though the GlobalGiving Platform.

KVDA appeals to individuals, families, friends, institutions, campanies and others who are willing to walk the journey with us to sacrifice their financial resources to support the needy cause and all the donations will be used to support the project with utmost transparency and accountability of the funds received through the generous support of our esteeemed donors.

Kenya Voluntary Development Association (KVDA) has dedicated efforts towards this project that has greater potential for replication.

For over 7 months now, we are facing challenges in mobilization of financial resources towards the implementation of this project especially conducting an online fundraising as are still stuck at USD 35 and our team is concerned that the efforts have not realised the project donations and this is something we are working hard to achieve despite the limitations.

Our board meeting resolved that we revamp this program through in-house top up in order to bolster the process aware of the limitation.

When we peruse the GlobalGiving website, it is inspiring to see many organizations doing very well with remarkable donations coming in and our major concern is that our organization has still lags behind but the good work by other organizations inspires us to retrace our steps to enhance our capacities and make good progress.

In July and August 2025, KVDA deployed 20 volunteers from Kenya, Japan, France, Italy and Spain on the program at Emmabwi village where they were able to mould 564 bricks that are part of the initiative to develop this project and the enthusiasm and determination by members of the local community in collaboration with the volunteers from the global community was humbling and this is a good pointer on our overrall determination to enhance the capacity of the program despite the limitations.

The volunteers mentioned above were mobilized through our partner organizations abroad and Kenyan educational institutions and this is an inspiration to enhance the program and we are confident that a lot can be achieved through the community of efforts and especially leveraging on the obtaining potentials and capacities.

During  our next report, we expect to have tangible progress with a report on changed fortunes as we rally people across the world to respond to our call for donations and for sure the journey is perilous as the GlobalGiving community seems overwhelmed but the amount of support witnessed on the platform for other projects is inspiring.

KVDA through the face to face meeting with members of the local community recognised that the local people remain enthusiastic to support this project and the missing link are the finances to help us to overcome the barriers on the process.

KVDA calls upon friends, partners and all people of goodwill to respond to our calls for donations and this will in a big way contribute towards the successful implementation of this project that has greater potential for replication.

The support of GlobalGiving in this endeavour will be highly appreciated as it will make the big difference in our endeavour to have an impact on the community through enabling the people to have access to clean water and energy.

Appeal goes out to the GlobalGiving Secretariat to help us to have this project successful as there is great potential to share knowledge and expertize on the program for maximum effect and this can only be successful if KVDA is enabled to channel its appeal to the right potential donors and break the ceiling by having people of goodwill stepping out to support this important project that has the potential to make the difference.
