Yes! You can turn plastic waste into building blocks to bring better access to education! We empower students and teachers by building schools in an innovative and sustainable way, provide equitable educational opportunities for children in remote areas and accelerate digital connectivity and clean water access. These combined programs make a deep impact in the rural areas of Indonesia.
The Indonesian education system is the 4th largest in the world with >50mio students. However, a notable educational disparity persists between urban and rural areas with only 22.5% of students completing high school. They lack access to books, computers and additional programs. Schools are not connected to clean water and proper sanitary facilities. At the same time, Indonesia faces a massive plastic waste problem, which threatens the community's health due to poor waste management.
We rebuilt schools from recycled plastic waste, which makes them eco-friendly. These schools are well-equipped with facilities, furniture, educational materials, and toys. Each school receives a 3-year post construction program to ensure the school's quality & sustainability. Made from durable plastic blocks with a low carbon footprint, they're quick to assemble and remove 1-2 tons of plastic waste each making a sustainable impact on education and the environment in Indonesia.
Our school rebuilding program contributes to 11 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. More students in remote areas will have access to improved education, creating better opportunities for their lives. Their improved literacy and technological skills will prepare them better for competing in the modern workplace.
