APLAFA, through the Maternal and Infant Care Project, in coordination with community leaders and health centers, has successfully benefited four women residing in the province of Chiriquí, located 445 kilometers from the city of Panama.
All of the women who benefited have given birth to four healthy babies, who have received the necessary pediatric care; in addition, long-acting contraceptives have been made available to the mothers.
It is important to highlight that two of the beneficiaries are part of one of the most representative indigenous populations of Panama, the Ngäbe Buglé; a community that generally faces multiple barriers to accessing comprehensive health services, including prenatal care.
With the support of the GlobalGiving community, APLAFA can sustain the Maternal and Infant Care Project, thereby contributing to the prevention of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, ensuring safe maternities and healthy babies.
Join APLAFA in this important mission! Your support can make a difference in the lives of many women and their families. With your donation and by sharing our work on your social media, we can ensure a healthier future for all.
