During the year 2022, the Maternal and Infant Care in Panama Project benefited five (5) mothers and their babies from the communities of David, Las Lomas and Dolegas, province of Chiriquí, located 445 kilometers from Panama City.
Through Maternal and Infant Care in Panama Project APLAFA provided health care to mothers, by covering their laboratory expenses, gynecology and obstetrics services, and in some cases, care with nutrition specialists. In addition, the project made it possible to make long-term contraceptives available to these women.
Babies born during the project were care up with pediatrics.
So far, the funds raised through Maternal and Infant Care in Panama Project have allowed us to cover one hundred and five (105) maternal and child health care services.
APLAFA is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that, in addition to providing sexual and reproductive health, works so that its family health clinics are safe spaces, where information can be received without any type of stigma and discrimination; Therefore, the users benefited from Maternal and Infant Care in Panama Project have also received guidance and counseling spaces with our specialized teams sensitive to various situations of vulnerability.
This year, we plan to continue with the project, in other of the APLAFA family health clinics where users in vulnerable conditions are treated. We invite you to continue being part of this process.
