Humanity For Persons Living With HIV/AIDS

Young people living with HIV/AIDS need more than medical services. They need someone to listen to them, understand their concerns, and encourage them when life becomes difficult. The Girl Child Foundation Uganda stands alongside vulnerable youth through counseling and psychosocial support.

Our program provides confidential individual counseling, peer-support opportunities, life-skills education, HIV awareness, and referrals to appropriate health services. These interventions help young people cope with stigma, strengthen their self-esteem, and develop practical skills for navigating everyday challenges.

We encourage participants to remain hopeful and understand that HIV does not determine their ability to succeed. With appropriate care and support, young people can continue learning, developing careers, building relationships, and contributing to their communities.

We also engage caregivers and community members in efforts to promote acceptance and reduce discrimination.

Every young person deserves someone in their corner. With donor support, we can extend this support to more vulnerable communities across Uganda.

Behind every HIV diagnosis is a young person with dreams, abilities, and hopes for the future. Unfortunately, stigma, fear, isolation, and misinformation can make it difficult for many young people to see beyond their diagnosis.

The Girl Child Foundation Uganda is committed to ensuring that vulnerable young people receive the emotional and social support they need. Through counseling, peer-support groups, life-skills training, HIV awareness, and referrals to health services, we help young people regain confidence and develop resilience.

Our counselors and peer supporters provide compassionate spaces where participants can express their concerns and receive encouragement. We also work with families and communities to strengthen understanding and reduce discrimination.
