No young person should feel alone because of their HIV status. Yet stigma, discrimination, and fear of disclosure can cause young people living with HIV/AIDS to withdraw from friends, family, school, and community life.
The Girl Child Foundation Uganda works to reduce this isolation by providing safe spaces for counseling, peer support, and open conversation. Our counselors and peer supporters encourage young people to share their concerns in a respectful and confidential environment.
Through life-skills sessions and HIV education, participants gain knowledge and practical tools to cope with challenges and make informed choices. Peer interaction helps create a sense of belonging and reminds young people that they have support.
We also work with families and caregivers to promote acceptance and understanding.
With donor support, we can reach more vulnerable youth who may be silently struggling. Together, we can replace isolation with connection, fear with confidence, and stigma with compassion.
