This project is one of the first critical projects of EARN ained to create development, restore badly degraded areas and communities affected by incessant oil spills and provide clean and safe water as relief to victims off oil pollution and climate pollution in the oil producing areas and communities of Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
This region has suffered and is still battling with chronic and long-term effectsi of oil pollution including contamination of drinking water sources.
The affected communities are in dire need of livelihoods and water .Most vulnerable people living in this region drink oily-water that causes cancer of various forms (liver, lung, leukaemia, heart etc).Study predicted cancer epidemic in the region in 2025.
EARN wants to ameliorate the suffering of the victims by providing boreholes and tanker water to 20 communities of the region to mitigate impacts and save lives.
EARN received little donations at the start of the campaign but since January 2025, the donations dried up.
EARN for sure appeals for donations to implement this project.
