First, we would like to thank all of you who have so selflessly helped by giving your time and money to try and make this project for the homeless street kids and restavek slave children a reality. We also want to give our thanks in advance to all of you considering helping in this effort. As most of you who have been with us before know, our original intent was to as quickly as possible get the children out of the camps where they have been living in Port au Prince, Haiti since the home was destroyed by the tragic earthquake 12 Jan 10. Due to the rising health concerns in the camps, as well as the innate violence and corruption that we suffer there, we originally intended to construct a "domes" complex on the newly obtained HSKI land in Jacmel, Haiti where the children could be moved to and escape the misery and problems associated with the camps. In the last 3 months, we have had to treat children for yellow fever, malaria, cholera and other injuries related to the camp conditions. We also intend to be able to offer a home and future to many more of the children we care for that are still living alone on the streets of Port au Prince.
After much thought and discussion concerning this move into a "domes" complex, it was decided that this would in reality be moving the children from one "shelter situation" to another. What the children need and want is a "home", not a shelter. This is what we intend to provide for them. A real home that will be permanent and lasting, offering them a chance at a new life and new upward direction for their lives and futures is our new goal. Even though this new direction and complex design is more ambitious and on a grander scale, we can assure all of you who have helped, it will be something you can take pride in by knowing you were a part of. And that's not all!
We also have as part of the plan, a solution to make the home and project partially self-sustaining by incorporating a Guest House facility that will be open to all visitors, supporters, missionaries and tourist wanting to visit the children and Jacmel. You can see for yourself, first hand, what you have helped to create while having a really unique opportunity to meet the children you have helped to save, face to face. The guest house will have male and female dorm-type accomodations that will offer an economical solution for church groups, youth groups, university groups and any others that want to visit the home and Jacmel while maintaining and assuring security, comfort and convenience while having a really good time! The guest house facility will also offer hotel-type, private rooms for those who perfer it that way.
We want to offer an incentive to those of you who want the chance to help with this terrific project and be part of something really wonderful! Any donor who would now like to make a donation of $500 will be given five free nights upon completion of the project, including two meals/day for each year they submit their donation. For a one-time donation of $1000, the donor can receive 14 nights (two weeks) for one year following the donation. For any recurring donation of $500 or more, we will offer the donor up to five nights per month indefinitely for as long as their recurring donation is active. All tax deductible too through GlobalGiving!

More details concerning the new HSKI Complex for Displaced Haitian Children and Guest House will follow as we progress in our efforts to make this dream a reality for the kids we serve. You can see the rough, preliminary drawing of the grounds layout for the complex, as well as the fascade for the structure itself, which is designed in the customary Jacmel style of architecture attached to this report.
