Prizes galore in Sports

Gearing up for Hockey Match

Games and Sports is an integral part of holistic development of a student in HOPE School. HOPE school provides training and opportunities for the students to excel in sports because it believes that games and sports paves way for building confidence in students, helps in team building and discipline. HOPE school encourages and motivates the students of the school to participate in any one sport of their choice and trains them to achieve proficiency in it. 76 Students (boys – 41 & girls – 35) are getting trained in group games such as Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Hockey, volley ball and individual games such as Athletics, Chess, Carom Board and Silambam-a form of martial arts.

This academic year 173 students out of 240 participated in 8 different competitions and 63 students won prizes for the school. Few of the competitions that the students participated are;

  1. 4th Tamil Nadu State & Zonal sports championship - 14 Girls from Kabaddi team brought home the Runners Up trophy.
  2. 1 student bagged 3rd prize in shotput.
  3. 1 student was selected for HCL Sports for Change (National level) and she bagged the 2nd place in Kabaddi.
  4. 14 girls of Hockey team participated in Tamil Nadu Government- Zonal Sports and brought home the Winner’s trophy.
  5. 12 boys of Hockey team participated in Tamil Nadu Government- Zonal Sports and brought home the Runners Up trophy.
  6. 108 boys and girls participated in Chengalpattu District Tamil Nadu Sports Zonal Meet -2022 in various games such as Volley ball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Hockey and Carom. Girls Hockey & Kabaddi team brought home Winner’s trophy and boys kabaddi and hockey team bagged 2nd place.
