Education is arguably the tool that allows students to move up within the socioeconomic system regardless of their family’s beginnings (Bowen, Kurzweil, & Tobin, 2005; Sewell, Hauser, & Featherman, 1976).

Students studying in HOPE foundation Matriculation High school face many financial, emotional, and academic obstacles set against them as they come from an economically poor background.  But HOPE school is very happy to share that most of the students studying in HOPE school continue their education after completing their 10^th Std.

Abhinaya. S - A future Software Engineer studied in HOPE Foundation School, Kannagi Nagar till 10th   grade, where she spent a lot of time in the computer lab triggering off her interest in becoming a Software Engineer. Her desire to become a software engineer was not overnight but emerged from the umpteen number of opportunities she received at HOPE school be it academics, interacting with the volunteers, participating in various competitions or the exposure visits that she went for. She faced quiet an opposition from her family when she expressed her desire to learn computers, but her persuasion and her interest to study B. Sc. Computer Science course  made them change their mind.

HOPE foundation is very thankful for the financial support extended by each one of you in providing quality education to the underprivileged students from the slum communities in Chennai and thus continue to BRING HOPE and CHANGE LIVES of these students. 

HOPE foundation also happy to inform you that the 54 students from the last two batches who studied during the academic year 2018-19 & 2019-20 are continuing their education in the field of their choice in various colleges.

While there are 35% of children in the age group of 15-18 years are school dropout out of which 67% dropout are boys as per the above-mentioned report, HOPE School has been consistently bringing about transformation in the lives of all the children by not only imparting quality education but also equipping them to dream big and aspire to fulfill that dream.

HOPE foundation Matriculation High School students have been exhibiting their scientific talents by participating in various science exhibitions, competitions conducted by the State Education Department & by other Institutions in Chennai Tamilnadu.

HOPE school was sent an invitation to participate in the ‘Young Kalam Science Fest,’ to showcase their science project models.

9 Students from 7^th to 9^th std., participated and displayed the science models as follows; viz;

1.Sound sensor switch

2.Fire Alarm

3.Tesla Coil

4.Solar power charger

5.Solar Multi meter with power bank &

6.Bluetooth speaker

The science teacher of the school, prepared the students within two days  to come up with the above models.

The Evaluation team especially appreciated Sound sensor switch, Fire alarm & Solar power charger and thus HOPE school students bagged 3^rd prize for the science models out of 258 models displayed by 380 students from Tamil Nadu (Chennai & Madurai) & Karnataka (Bangalore).  

All the 9 students were awarded with a certificate and medal. It was a moment of great joy for HOPE School to have received the 3^rd Prize -  a trophy from Shri. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Minister for School Education, Tamil Nadu.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who continuously support HOPE foundation in not only imparting FREE English medium to all the 458 students studying in HOPE School this academic year but also in the holistic development of the students through Sports, Science, Technology, Scouts & Guides etc.,
