This project supports migrants and vulnerable families stranded in Ecuador and Peru. ADRA provides emergency food, safe accommodation, healthcare, psychosocial support, and hygiene points equipped with showers and toilets. The project restores dignity, protects the most vulnerable, and helps families survive crisis while rebuilding hope and stability. Working with local partners, we also support host communities to reduce tensions and strengthen coexistence.
Migration in South America is a matter of survival. Migrants from the region arrive in Ecuador and Peru exhausted, traumatized, and without resources, facing hunger, illness, gender-based violence, and discrimination. Many of them are in acute need of medical assistance, psychosocial or legal services. Fragile host communities are overwhelmed by rising needs and limited resources, which increases tension. Immediate support is essential to prevent harm and stabilize lives.
ADRA delivers comprehensive, dignified, and culturally sensitive humanitarian aid, addressing both urgent needs and long-term resilience. Through this project, we provide: Emergency food assistance, short-term emergency accommodation, access to healthcare and psychosocial support, hygiene and dignity kits, including menstrual health supplies for women and girls, access to shower and toilets, protection and support for vulnerable groups, especially women, children, and elderly.
By addressing urgent needs while protecting dignity, the project helps migrants and vulnerable families regain stability and resilience. Improved health, safety, and psychosocial wellbeing enable families to recover from crisis and make informed decisions about their future. At the same time, support to host communities reduces tensions and strengthens peaceful coexistence, contributing to more resilient and inclusive communities in Ecuador and Peru.
