Every week, families across Ukraine are still trying to answer one of the hardest questions of this war:
How will we eat?
For parents, elderly residents, displaced families, and children, food is not always easy to find. Some families have lost work. Some have fled their homes. Some live in communities where stores are closed, prices are too high, or transportation is unsafe. For many people, a food kit or a warm meal is not extra help. It is what helps them get through the day.
Through Hope For Ukraine’s Emergency Food for Families in Ukraine project, we continue to provide consistent food support to people facing hunger and hardship because of the war.
Each week, our team helps deliver more than 2,000 food kits to families in need. These kits include staple groceries that help families cook meals for several days. For a mother, that can mean having enough food to prepare dinner for her children. For an elderly person living alone, it can mean not having to choose between medicine and groceries. For a displaced family starting over in a new place, it can mean one small piece of stability.
In addition to food kits, Hope For Ukraine helps serve more than 1,000 hot meals every day in Rivne, Kyiv, and Irpin. These meals support elderly residents, displaced families, and others who may not have the resources or ability to cook for themselves. A hot meal offers more than calories. It gives comfort, dignity, and a reminder that someone still cares.
Every month, this food support reaches more than 5,000 families and individuals through food kits, hot meals, and snacks for children in after-school programs.
Children are especially vulnerable. Many have lived through air raids, displacement, loss, and fear. In our after-school programs, snacks help children focus, learn, play, and feel cared for in a safe space. For a child, something as simple as food after school can bring comfort in the middle of uncertainty.
This project is possible because of supporters who continue to stand with Ukrainian families. Your support helps keep food moving to the people who need it most.
The need remains urgent. As the war continues, many families are still struggling to afford basic groceries and daily meals. Hope For Ukraine will continue working to provide food kits, hot meals, and child-focused food support to communities across Ukraine.
Thank you for helping make sure families in Ukraine are not left hungry or forgotten.
