It's Almost Time for another Graduation

By Kallen Hawkinson | Communications Coordinator

Glory, age 20
Glory, age 20

We are thrilled to share this update with you on Glory; a former resident who is now attending college and is a part of our Community Based Care program. She has been an influence on many girls in the aftercare program, inspiring them to pursue college as well.

An Update on Glory from our Clinical Care Overseer:

We continue to be impressed with Glory’s progress in her journey toward complete reintegration back into her community. In the last six months, she has moved from the dormitories to a small rented room off campus. Glory is continuing her studies at bible college and is participating in a group study. She has adjusted well to life in the community without the support of the house parents from her dorm. On the weekends, she arranges her schedule to either visit her family or come back to stay for a night at the shelter. Both of these are a welcome break from the intense study at college.

Glory is a role model, a big sister, and a mentor to those around her.

Glory is in her fifth semester of Bible College and has about two years to graduate. She remains to be a strong and motivated student, setting a great example for her sisters at Sarah’s House, many of who have decided they want to pursue college, just as Glory has. She is beginning preparations towards graduation from the program at Sarah’s House, however Compassion First will continue to support her in our Community Based Care program, through college and as long as she needs/desires.

Glory has already successfully reintegrated into the community through her participation in college, which has helped this process tremendously. Therefore, graduation is imminent! We could not be more proud of all the hard work that Glory has exhibited, both in her own personal healing as well as her college work.
