The Evie Grace Foundation has felt like a beehive with every volunteer putting in many hours to continue progressing with our project to build a Therapeutic Centre for Street Girls in Malawi.
Not only did we graduate on the GlobalGiving platform in just 10 days, but we exceeded the $7000 goal and raised a whopping $11,000! We are so incredibly humbled and thankful for our generous community who believe in and continue to support our mission. The sum raised in December has fully funded the construction of the kitchen for the transitional therapeutic home to accomodate up to 60 girls!
2020 was a year that caused so much uncertainty, especially with the closures of international borders, and the 2021 is still making our travel plans to Malawi challenging. However, operations in Australia have gone full steam ahead and we have already facilitated 3 fundraising events across the country since January, with more exciting events planned! In addition, we have open communications to our partners in Malawi who are helping us navigate regulations in preparation for the time when we can start laying the foundations of the transitional home. We are earnestly waiting for borders to open, but until then the team at Evie Grace Foundation are diligently working to achieve our goal.
