A tremor of 7, the highest level on Japan's seismic intensity scale, was recorded in Hokkaido, Japan on Thursday, September 6th. The massive quake and ensuing shocks caused destructive landslides with at least 44 deaths and over 650 injured. Over 2,600 victims are sheltered in evacuation centers and 6000 households are without clean water. Your contributions will fund Civic Force's rescue operations and provide medical assistance at evacuation centers.
Over 650 injured are in need of medical attention and nearly 2 million homes and around 40 hospitals have lost electricity. Over 2,600 victims are currently sheltered in evacuation centers and over 6,000 households do not have clean water.
Civic Force, in coordination with other first responders, dispatched a search-and-rescue team, including 3 SAR dogs, to search for missing persons. Civic Force is now planning to: 1) set up an office/resting area for medical staff at evacuation centers; 2) transport victims to public baths for their hygienic and laundry needs; 3) distribute expandable, plastic water tanks for clean water; and 4) provide privacy partitions at evacuation centers for mothers with infants during feeding.
This fund will help bring the missing back to their loved ones, save patients by transporting them to other hospitals, and ease the suffering of victims by attending to their needs. The people of Japan have experienced a tumultuous summer of natural disasters and your donation will aid them.
