In the past 18 months, with the greatly appreciated help of your generous donations, Human Health Project has made significant progress with this crowdfunding campaign and the delivery of its mission (to promote peer-to-peer holistic health with three pillars: Information, Education and Support), whereby people around the world can help each other with their health issues, reducing inequities in health outcomes. Please take a look at my brief video about HHP. HHP has a special focus on the underserved and vulnerable population groups, as well as the elderly and their caregivers.
Education
In the past two years, we have created and delivered a 9 module Patient Advocacy Course and an 8 module Patient Education course localized to Northern Ireland. In October this year, we launched our first publicly available online Patient Education, three module course entitled Patient Driven Data and Diagnosis, the New Trailblazers in Health Research available with a $10 donation or free of charge with completion of a financial aid application, (please use this code 8JWESVAY to take the course free of donation). We plan to launch a second three module course, Patient Empowerment 101 before the end of this year and to launch 4 courses per year in the coming years (following the curriculum at the bottom of this doc) in the US and UK/Ireland. In addition to this, we are now working to launch localized versions of our courses in partnership with local health care organizations in local areas of the US and UK/Ireland and in other countries with a special focus on developing nations. Here’s a short video about the Learning Academy. Please contact bizdev@humanhealthproject.org if you would like to discuss partnering for the localization of HHP courses or to suggest the creation of new course titles.
Support
Following Patient Advocacy focus groups that we held in Los Angeles, Belfast and Dublin in the first half of 2019, we were successful in receiving a Northern Ireland patient advocacy programme grant from the UK National Lottery Awards for All programme in December 2019 and we received a Northern Ireland digital literacy programme grant in December 2020. Due to delays caused by Covid 19, these programmes did not get underway until June this year with all activities online. We are now developing an online Patient Advocacy and Digital Literacy workshops programme with release targeted to commence in the UK/Ireland in 2022 and in the US and in other countries in 2023. In parallel with this program, in October 2020, we launched our Online Peer to Peer Panel events which have been very well received. Videos of the events are marketed following the events and can be viewed on the HHP events page. To date we have hosted five panels, the latest of which was titled “Building Your Healthcare Team with a focus on Alzheimers and Dementia” which took place on November 12th 2021. With your help, we plan to continue to host a growing number of panels each year going forward. Please see my brief video about the online peer to peer panels program.
Information
While continuing to share 50 pages of reports on both Migraine and Lupus on Humanhealthproject.org, we have been working on building infrastructure to be able to allow the HHP community to share information about their health conditions: Causes and Triggers, Symptoms and Treatments including Side Effects and Outcomes in a very user friendly form and in particular for people sharing on their mobile phones. In order to launch and add more and more conditions in the coming 10 years. Please watch my brief video to learn more.
Partners
In addition to offering HHP programs online, we welcome partnerships with other non profit community healthcare organizations around the world in respect of all of our programs from the localization of HHP Learning Academy courses to working with partners on the collection and sharing of real world data to the delivery of patient advocacy and other peer support programs, please email bizdev@humanhealthproject.org with any questions and enquiries.
Funding
In Q4 2021, we are relaunching this crowdfunding campaign with a target of $250,000 to continue to fund the programs outlined above with an expansion of our programs and the number of people we will help. In addition to this, we will fundraise in other ways via social media and where possible with grants from foundations. In addition to cash funding, our goal is to expand our current approximately 100 volunteers to 250 plus over the next five years with a cash equivalent annual value growing from $2.5m to $6m.
Support you can provide
After reading through this information you might think “What can I do to help?” Here’s my brief video about helping HHP. There are lots of opportunities where you can us with the creation and delivery of our programs including:
- Volunteering for a period of time
- Raising awareness of Human Health Project and the work we do by hosting a gathering to fund raise
- Promotion and fundraisers on social media (Facebook and Instagram) and through other avenues
- One time and monthly financial contributions viaHuman Health Project to support the work we do.
Many thanks.
Yours sincerely,
