Project Report: June–August 2026
From June through August, 150 girls and young women between the ages of 6 and 18 continued participating in Virreyes Hockey, our free community hockey program designed to promote inclusion, gender equity, and personal development through sport. The girls continued with weekly training sessions and weekend matches, strengthening not only their hockey skills but also the social and interpersonal skills that sport can foster, such as teamwork, communication, discipline, confidence, and respect for others. Hockey provides them with a recreational and safe space, but also with a powerful opportunity for personal and social growth.
As we enter the final part of the school year, we are preparing our upcoming hockey tours, which are an important part of the program. These experiences allow the girls to spend time together outside their usual environment, strengthen bonds with their teammates, and develop empowerment, courage, self-awareness, and independence. For many of our players, traveling with their team and taking on new challenges represents an important step toward discovering their own capabilities and imagining new possibilities for their future.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who continues to support Virreyes Hockey and make these opportunities possible. At the same time, we continue to need donations to improve and renew the equipment and materials our girls use to practice hockey. Having safe, adequate, and quality equipment is essential for them to train, compete, and fully enjoy the sport. Every contribution helps us create better conditions for the girls to develop their skills, confidence, and potential—both on and off the hockey field.
Thank you,
