We started to "grow!"
Variable, cold and clumsy weather has shifted plans for cultivation this year. Last year we had the first vegetables planted and raised. This year the planting took place after the first of May.
Together with families and children, we prepared 450 pumpkins in Tvrdošín on Monday and planted spinach, corms and parsley. We expect the first crop at the end of May, early June.
Hanka, who has ill daughter, has been given a free garden lease. Thanks to the support of the Great Country, we have received a foil planter. She plans to grow tomatoes and cucumbers in it. The foil planter was built with help of our volunteers, Michal and Edo.
Thank you for your help and contributions to make Orava families in a difficult life situation more self-sufficient.
