The Ukrainian Red Cross continues working to support the people of Ukraine. Last year, together with our partners, we installed 45 mobile boilers. Until the end of 2024, sixty more is planned to be installed in local communities.
The Ukrainian Red Cross, in cooperation with the state authorities, has identified the communities most in need of assistance before the heating season, with a focus on those liberated from the occupation, or located near the front line. We ensured the procurement and delivery of Ukrainian-made mobile boilers, including 16 mobile boilers with a capacity of 200 kW, 25 with a capacity of 500 kW, one with a capacity of 800 kW and 18 with a capacity of 1000 kW.
In total, the project to provide Ukrainian local communities with mobile boilers in 2024 covers 10 regions, 6 residential sectors, 24 medical and 30 educational institutions.
The total capacity of 105 boiler houses transferred over 2 years is about 600 MW, which will allow to warm up to 600 thousand square meters of living space. These boiler houses run on natural gas and can switch to diesel fuel in case of gas supply interruptions. An important factor is their mobility, which allows them to be quickly moved and installed in new locations if necessary.
