Dear Amazing Donor,
Early December 2020 Halt Poverty announced the continuation of COVID Relief: Individual Microgrant Initiative. Eligible hospitality and tourism community and residents in all regions of Madagascar can apply for a modest microgrant to cover necessary expenses or gaps in income resulting from the economic repercussions of COVID-19.
With your contribution, we are committed to ensuring that our most vulnerable communities have the support they need to weather the short-and long-term impacts of the coronavirus outbreak. When faced with a gap in income, families already structurally underemployed or living paycheck to paycheck face impossible choices between keeping up with rent and essential utilities and keeping food on the table.
We are especially grateful for your support on this uniquely challenging year. Halt Poverty COVID Relief Individual Microgrant Initiative provide flexible microgrants that families can use to pay for whatever expenses are most urgent for them. Your gift supports one or more of the following items depending on the needs of each family:
In this report, your gift brings modest economic opportunities for decent livelihoods to a family in Ihorombe region which is home to Isalo National Park. Quick fact about the region. High rate of poverty is prevalent (Instat, 2012) in rural areas affects a significant proportion of working age population.
The COVID Relief: Individual Microgrant Initiative continues to provide support to hospitality and tourism community struggling to make ends meet as the pandemic and its economic impacts continue. We simply could not do this without YOU: donors, GG amazing staff and partners. Thank you for constantly inspiring us to make the world a better place.
With appreciation,
Halt Poverty Team
Dear donor,
Please accept our gratitude for your contribution of $82, or 287.000Ariary in local currency to the project #44848 to help tourism community. With your generosity, we have been able to purchase organic and 100% natural essential oils from one of our sites in Vatovavy Fitovinany. Your donation had double impact: (1) supported tourism community as we purchased locally (2) helped treated those little daily ailments of 2020 winter season.
Malagasy winter occurs between May until July. Due to the lockdown, most of our beneficiaries living in urban areas spent about 70% of their time indoors. Most of the time they were breathing were in all types of indoor and outdoor pollution. Making them more vulnerable to catch COVID-19. Though essential oils are not accessible to vulnerable people due to their price, they are considered valuable during the cold months.
We have listed few reasons why household must-have essential oils for a healthy winter especially this year with this unprecedented pandemic:
We have borrowed few essential oil precautions:
We reiterate our gratitude for making it possible to create a more resilient workforce. Please see as attached a picture of our capacity building recipients seeing the process about how those essential oils were produced. Stay safe!
Warm regards,
Halt Poverty team
Dear donor,
With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting everyday life, we thank you for your continued support and wish you and your community health and peace. The disbursement of your contribution to the project #44848 to improve the transition of women in the workforce was received on April 24, 2020. Ref N. 288631. Please accept our gratitude for your contribution of $295,47
Right now, Halt Poverty faces new challenges. This global pandemic has altered daily life for most of us especially when the lock down has impacted some of the most vulnerable people. As we adapt to these unprecedented circumstances, we will continue to serve our communities as best we can. However, in order to ensure the safety of our community and ourselves, we have made necessary modifications to our programming that we would like to share with you.
With your generosity, we have been able to deploy your contribution of 1.070.000Ariary to the project #44848 to improve the transition of women in the workforce. Given the situation, we have made a few important changes to our programs. These changes include the support of seven (07) disadvantaged employees and undergraduate students with unexpected costs incurred during this unprecedented challenge

We look forward to resuming the original programming once it is safe to do so. Stay home. Stay safe.
