COVID-19 has made it challenging for most families working in the hospitality and tourism industry. Hunger and poverty play out privately in the lives of thousands of travel community. Hunger plays out quietly in classrooms as students try to keep up with their lessons. It plays out in the homes as they sacrifice meals to afford medication. It plays out in hushed conversation between parents, as they try to stretch stagnant paychecks. Help distressed employees and students in the travel industry
Help distressed employees and students in the hospitality and tourism family. Covid-19 has altered daily life for most of us. With the generosity of donors and Global Giving, we have been able to assist disadvantaged employees and undergraduate students with unexpected costs incurred during this unprecedented situation. So far, 1 social enterprise was launched as alternative solutions, micro-grants, goods and services distributed to support the most vulnerable individuals
We are joining efforts to ensure equality and basic human rights are met for our beneficiaries. With our partners, we have supported distressed employers and students in the hospitality and tourism workforce. We have been busy detecting, filtering, and interviewing potential beneficiaries since April 2020. Halt Poverty provides nutritious meals, micro grants, good and services to vulnerable communities. The scale of a family consisted of 2 to 7 individuals
Thanks to the continued support and commitment of donors and partners, the project will educate families allowing them to rise out of poverty which will provide for their families' health and well-being
