We are happy to announce that on May 10 the new nursery and infant school in Eggi (Spoleto), was inaugurated. Authorities, donors and volunteers, the children and their families took part in the cutting of the ribbon in the presence of Mariavittoria Rava, president of the Francesca Rava Foundation and with the extraordinary participation of Arisa, Italian singer and testimonial and volunteer of the Foundation.
The new school structure, beautiful, safe and environmentally friendly, is the seventh school delivered by the Francesca Rava Foundation to children affected by the 2016 earthquake.
It is a completely anti-seismic structure, built in 3 months starting from the end of January, with latest generation materials and technologies, equipped with energy heating systems with reduced environmental impact. The 25 pupils of the Infancy school, so far housed in a building owned by the Curia in San Giacomo di Spoleto, have returned to their village: they performed a small show of thanks for those present and for the families who find in the structure an element of rebirth of the village.
The President of the Francesca Rava Foundation - NPH Italia Onlus, Mariavittoria Rava, declared: "Today the Foundation's team has the joy of delivering the new school to the children of Eggi but our work does not stop. We are also realizing a definitive anti-seismic school for the children of Pieve Torina in the province of Macerata, which will be inaugurated in September ".
In these months of emergency and great work for reconstruction, the Francesca Rava Foundation has listened to the needs of children and families, thus developing a real friendship with the territory, which has already resulted in numerous interest and concrete help, in close synergy with the local authorities. Like the CREATIVE LABORATORIES realized for the children of the elementary school of Norcia, the EMOTIONAL PSYCHOLOGICAL LABORATORIES with the children of the school of Arquata del Tronto, the EDUCATION VISIT IN MILAN for the students of the middle and upper years of Norcia. The Foundationhas also implemented a health project in Arquata del Tronto, where we set up a gynecological clinic at the local mountain medical clinic and provided a grant study for a young gynecologist
We are thankful to our Globalgiving donors who have supported our rebuilding projects so far, let's keep up the good work. We are now committed to ultimating the eighth school.
