Help Takija build a nursery school to educate 60

Dear all,

We regret to post this report late and would like to explain that it was because of the deteriorating situation of the crises in  this part of the country where we are based.   For the past two months we had no Electricity and with the hanging up in the subborbs and bushes because of the situation, we did  not have access to  be able to write a report.

However, we are glad to report that Takijah happened to be in the village and after the buring, many families that were internally displaced are struggling to come back.  Those who were not affected and are always on the run when the military is coming are doing well with their kids.  

To help continue with the education of the young ones, we have continued quarter  home studies where these children are grouped and assigned to a local teacher.  Home classes have continued as you can see children at home being drilled and they play.

The general schoooling atmosphere is not very safe because soldiers enter any village at any time and killing, raping and loating has become the other of the day.

We are trying to keep up the project with a lot of care and making sure that the children are not expossed to danger. 

The figinting between the separates and goverment forces have continued  for the past three years resulting to to no regular schooling.   So we are really praying for back to school campaign by both national and international bodies to succeed  for the government to create a conducieve environment for schools to resume.

This new appraoch of spreading  quarter home classes  is very expensive to run becuase we have involved more guadiance and also a lot of counselling to parents and children.

We are very glad to thank you for helping this project up to this level and hopefully  we shall complete.

Dear all,

It is very regretable that up till now schools have not resumed in this part of the country because of the War. Takijah happened to be along the Ring road where the battle is taking place weekly.  Almost all the people of Takijah have fled to neighboring villages while some are in Nigeria as refregees.

How ever, every one can not leave the village. The left overs whose compounds were not destroyed and of course who were not along the mainroad have continued to live  therein.  

As such, we are intensifying our house to house basic education programme. We are seriously looking forward for normalcy to return even though the Government is speaking much about the dialogue but emphasising on the armed separaties to lay down their weapons first and the separated have refused because they doubt their security.

Also, the total quest for indepence of the Southern Cameroon has remained the forcus of the separaties and until their problem is solved, there is no security sending children to school.  Teachers are not also safe to teach even if the pupils are there.

We are trying to help this children in any way possible.
