The school year has just ended and the children were able study in a roofed building. However, few sheet are still
lacking to complete the entire building. The 25 Dollars was converted and handed to the P.T.A. Chaiman and the
the treasurer who together with the project leader made it up and bought four sheets of zinc to get on with the work.
I am glad to inform the few donors that the Takija Population is not only sitting and waiting for donations, they are also trying to raise local funds.
A lot is still to be done despite their endeavors. Below is a picture of the handing over of the Global Giving
Envelope.
Thanks to the few donors and those to come our way. When visitors from the Global Giving team shall come in June
they will give more reports on the people, the children and the project itself.
Takija as we indicated in our project page is in the rural vicinity of Kumbo town in Cameroon. As it can be seen in the project pictures, our volunteers Julie Diamond and SEREP's staff have been encouraging the population on the importance of Nursery school. We all appreciate what the community is doping despite the fact that we are still waiting for a disbursements of the donations in the weeks ahead. I am delighted to report here that they population in collaboration with SEREP's office have completed the roofs to protect it from the highly expected rains. Presently we are in the heart of the dry season which is soon to be followed by first torrential rain. Because of this, we have got zinc and have roofed the building. Our next report shall present pictures of the already roofed structure and most probably if more donations are received the plastering shall take place. The community, staff of the school including the SEREP are sending our appreciation to the global giving team, current and would be donors of these project for the support they are giving to the under six who are direct beneficiary and to the community who would have taken a long time to raise money in order top create a conducive learning environment for the young ones.
