Dear Valued Donor,
Thanks to your generous support, participants continued their journey of understanding and recovery through a second session focused on collective trauma — the emotional impact that remains when an entire community lives through catastrophe together.
The session explored the effects of earthquakes, displacement, bombardment, and the loss of loved ones, homes, neighborhoods, and a basic sense of safety.
Women learned that people do not always respond to disaster in the same way. Some reactions appear immediately, while others may surface months or even years later.
For many participants, this helped explain feelings they had struggled to understand long after the crisis itself had passed.
The session also introduced practical grounding techniques — simple tools that can help when painful memories suddenly return or when the past feels as though it is happening again in the present.
The women practiced these techniques together, giving them something practical they could carry into their daily lives.
One message became especially important throughout the session:
Healing is not a straight line.
There may be difficult days. There may be moments when it feels as though progress has been lost. But those moments do not mean recovery has failed.
Because of your support, these women are not only learning to understand what they have lived through — they are also gaining practical tools to move forward with greater strength, stability, and hope.
Thank you for standing beside communities affected by disaster and displacement.
Your contribution is helping transform painful experiences into understanding, resilience, and a path toward recovery.
With sincere gratitude,
Thank you for making this journey of healing possible.
